 PHPList is a double opt-in newsletter and recipient database manager. PHPList is software that runs on the 3B Web Server and allows you to stay in touch with your audience, without flooding them with information they don't want.

Here follows some of the main benefits:
- Posting to the mailing list is via a webpage. It is
therefore a one-way announcements system, directed from you to your
audience.
- PHPList enforces a double opt-in subscription
system. Subscribers who enter their details in a web based subscription
page, will receive an email and have to action their subscription to
receive emails.
- PHPList is designed to be able to deal with a very large amount of email addresses (it can cope with a database of millions of subscribers!.
- Open
Tracking. You can see how many users opened your email. This is a rough
indication, as many mail readers do not allow this, but it can still be
quite useful.
- Click Tracking. You can enable tracking clicks of all links in the emails you send and PHPList will report on
the clicks on every single email. This can be viewed by message, URL or
user.
- Templates. The team at 3B will ensure that the
newsletter signup and public pages integrate into your website,
ensuring a consistent look and feel. Furthermore, the newsletters you send can
be plain text or can appear as if part of your website has landed in
the recipient’s inbox!
- Send by criteria - you can specify
information you want to get from users when they sign up. When sending
a message, you can use this information to select the users that need

information. When people sign up, they can identify the geographical
location they're in and when sending an email you can determine which
locations need to receive the message.

- PHPList supports HTML and plain text emails. If a user indicates they want HTML email they can receive it that way.

import and export. You can import your lists of customers and export your subscribers direct to Microsoft Excel or other application.

Details. Every email a user receives will contain a personalised URL to
update the users' preferences. This way your users can update their own
information, password and email address so your database is always up-to-date.
- Embargoed sending. You can create a
message and tell the system to only start sending the emails at a certain date
and time in the future.
- User management. You can use several
in built tools to handle large databases of users. Users can be
reminded to confirm their subscription and invalid emails will be found
automatically, or fixed whenever needed.
- Bounce handling.
Bounces (refused or non-existent email addresses) can be processed and
users will be automatically unsubscribed when too many emails to them
bounced. This can be corrected by the administrator in case the
unsubscription was incorrect.
